Welcoming Zheniya Fager

Latest Update September 13, 2024

Why did you join Command AI?

I came from a really big, publicly-traded company, and I wanted to work more closely with a tight-knit group of colleagues. I've always wanted to try to wear many hats. I previously felt kind of siloed in sales, and I felt like I'd have a better opportunity to grow at Command AI. I also just really enjoyed interviewing with the team — with James and the other co-founders, I just felt like they really cared throughout the whole process.

What are you most excited to do in your new role?

Help build out the sales team! It's so exciting to be a part of something so fresh and unique. I think the next steps will be to build out the sales team, have a really amazing outbound sales motion, and just get to know everybody better.

What do you like to do outside work?

The easy answer is travel, and my favorite country is Spain. I like to read a lot — I'm a big Shakespeare / 19th-century Brit and post-colonial Nigerian literature nerd. I majored in writing and literature in college. So I spend a lot of time reading and then playing with my dog Gandalf.

What are some fun facts about yourself?

I met my fiance in the jungles of Peru eight years ago. Also I can eat a habanero pepper raw, and I frequently like to show off how much I can handle spice.

What app would you most like to see adopt Command AI?

Being in sales, my answer is definitely Salesforce. It’s so complicated, and if I close the wrong tab out, I have to go through their whole hierarchy of clicks — that can just ruin my entire day.

What is your favorite moment in technology history?

My favorite technology moment is when I started using Reddit. It connected me with a lot of like-minded individuals — and unlike-minded individuals. It’s a fantastic way to learn about random things and different perspectives.

What are your favorite subreddits?

There are so many. I like r/natureismetal when I just want to spend my day not thinking about anything. I also love the literature and critical theory subreddits.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I see myself leading a sales team or maybe exploring the path of sales enablement. And whether I stay in sales or go on the enablement side, I want to get some tenure at Command AI, stay with the company, and help grow out the sales team.
